At the center of every Vaccaro Guitar is a proprietary Aluminum Core Neck design.
A structural aluminum spine, fully encased in wood, engineered to enhance stability, response, and tone without sacrificing feel.
This isn’t about reinventing the guitar.
It’s about refining what players already trust and pushing it further.
The Vaccaro Neck is built around a precision-machined aluminum core that runs through the center of the neck. That core is completely encased in wood. From the outside, it feels like a traditional neck.
In your hands, it plays like one.
Unlike traditional all-aluminum neck designs, The Vaccaro system is built to preserve the natural tonal balance and feel of a wood neck, while enhancing sustain, attack, and overall note definition.
And in terms of weight, it remains right in line with what players expect.
But internally, it behaves very differently.
The aluminum structure adds rigidity and consistency where wood alone can vary.
The result is a neck that responds the same way today, tomorrow, and years from now.
The aluminum core directly impacts how the instrument performs:
Stability
Resists environmental changes. Less movement. More consistency.
Sustain
Energy transfers more efficiently through the neck, allowing notes to ring longer.
Attack
Faster, more immediate response when the note is struck.
Clarity
Improved note definition across chords and single-note lines.
Reliability
Built to hold its setup and feel over time, under real-world conditions.
Every great guitar starts with wood.
Its feel, its response, its character. That’s what players connect with.
The Vaccaro Aluminum Core is designed to support that, not replace it.
By reinforcing the structure internally, the neck maintains its feel and response while delivering a higher level of consistency.
Nothing unfamiliar. Nothing artificial.
Just a more stable foundation behind what already works.
You don’t think about it while playing.
You just notice that everything feels more solid, more reliable, more in tune with you.
This isn’t a feature reserved for select models.
It’s the foundation of the entire line.
Every Vaccaro guitar is built around the aluminum core neck platform, ensuring a consistent playing experience across every model.
Different shapes. Different sounds. Different players.
One shared foundation.
It’s what allows each instrument to feel distinct, while still carrying the same level of response, stability, and control.
In the early 1970s, builders like Travis Bean and John Veleno explored the idea of using aluminum to improve sustain, stability, and structural integrity.
Early designs explored aluminum as a primary structural material. The next evolution was integrating it, rather than replacing wood entirely.
Among those working closest to that innovation was Gary Kramer, who helped refine early aluminum neck designs during his time with Travis Bean.
That led to the formation of Kramer Guitars, alongside Dennis Berardi.
Shortly after, Henry Vaccaro Sr. entered the picture, bringing the operational vision and resources needed to scale the company.
Working with renowned luthier Phil Petillo, the first production prototypes were developed in 1975, leading to Kramer’s official launch in 1976.
Kramer would go on to define an era.
In the early 1990s, Henry Vaccaro Sr., again working with Phil Petillo, revisited the aluminum neck concept with a different goal: To retain the advantages of aluminum while restoring the familiar feel of a traditional wood neck.
That work led to the launch of Vaccaro Guitars in 1997 and the introduction of a new approach: an internal aluminum structure encased in wood.
Today, that concept has been refined once again.
Not as a throwback, but as a continuation.
What that refinement ultimately led to was a different balance.
The structural advantages that made aluminum compelling from the beginning remained.
But the feel, weight, and familiarity players expect from a traditional wood neck were brought back into focus.
The result is a design that delivers the sustain, attack, and stability associated with aluminum, while maintaining the response and comfort of a wood neck.
Not a departure from what came before.
A more complete version of it.
The goal was never to change what players love about a great guitar.
It was to reinforce it.
The modern Vaccaro Aluminum Core neck is not a visual statement.
It’s an internal one.
Engineered to deliver consistency, response, and control without changing what players already trust.
Every model we build starts here.
Familiar Enough to Trust. Different Enough to Matter.
